i interviewed with them back in may, got the offer for a training date, but turned it down after i got the offer from comair. turned out to be a mistake since comair put me in a pool a few weeks before my training date but oh well, such is life. interview was cake but i heard that the failure rate in training is about 70% because they expect everyone to be a pro at NDB apps and holding and fun stuff like that. the class before the one i would have been in i think 1 out of 8 made it through. i had 800TT and 50ME when i got the interview but word on the street at that time was if you were rated you should apply. im sure that went up a little given the state of the industry. i really would have enjoyed working there i think. would have been great experience and really hone the flying skillz. not the greatest pay or benefits but thats not everything in life. if anyone has any questions about the interview or anything just PM me and ill try to help. laterz
yep, that is true! the April class had 8 people, 7 failed! I was in that class, and it was pretty brutal! i was the lucky one though

It has indeed gone up, and published minimums looks like what they are using more to interview people! On that note, we are still hireing! Lakes is what you make it out to be. If you have lots of debt, or a significant other with big spending habits, then lakes is probebly not the place to go! If you love strong unions, then Lakes is probebly not the best place either. If you want a fair contract with good commuter clauses, sick days, paid vacation, or no training contract...you guessed it, dont come here. If you want to fly in some challenging places, with great crews and a fun airplane, then by all means come here. Of course, if you want to upgrade, get quailty time and leave, come to lakes, you will fit right in! Thats my two cents on the whole thing!
