For all of you out there wandering in the pool, waiting for the interview, etc.; below is the latest and greatest from the company as of today. In other words, it's not a rumor from a jumpseater who had coffee with one of my buddies at another city overnight after drinking beer.

As we all know things are subjuect to change. So with that being said here you go:
Rumor: Rumor has it that Classic classes were cancelled and everyone put on the 400. Can this be confirmed? Also, can we get an update on the current and future staffing levels for flight crews. Thanks. </B>
Response: For now the Company has postponed any additional training associated with the two Classics recently returned from dry lease until at least the first of the year. We will continue to evaluate how much additional staffing, if any, will be required based on the overall utilization of our Classic fleet and market conditions for the ad hoc flying these aircraft generally do, including AMC demand.
Regarding future staffing levels, our current fleet plan for 2009 at Atlas calls for 11 Classics in revenue service and 13 -400s. Polar will be flying six -400s, once its sole Classic (aircraft N516) is parked in October. We will also be hiring and upgrading in 2009 in preparation for our 747-8 deliveries in 2010.
