The more I see the " My company is better than your company" and all the problems that mergers and acquisitions do to pilot groups in this industry, the more I think that the "pilot guild" with a national seniority list sounds like a good idea. If everyone got their seniority number the moment they were hired on 121 and joined the guild, there would be not list merger issues.

If the payscales were national, you would not see regional airlines taking over the market with their low costs, since they could not pay peanuts anymore. Instead of bean counting the costs of labor, they would probably focus more on service and fuel costs...

I might be wrong, and am open to enlightment....
