Maybe because you werent in our shoes.
I was right there with you, katana. In reality, what could they have done? RLA castrates the group from really doing anything. I was a commuter and almost always flew YX. I cannot think of a single YX crew that had the "$hit happens" attitude, but all of them were very concerned about their future at YX. Again, what could they do? It really seems that management is in the driver's seat nowadays. The cookie palace has the spin doctors working over time since the AirTran deal to make themselves look good. Most recently, this was very obvious in the pay cut plan. "If the pilot and fa groups don't accept these reasonable, industry standard pay rates, then we will be forced in to Ch11." It won't be Timmy fault.
I would love to see a sick out on 1 Oct, but there is a legal issue there. So, again, what can they do or could they have done differently? This backroom deal was dropped on everybody and proves that neither mgt grroup is interested in getting input from any labor group, regardless of the CBAs.
