Remember the B-1900's being flown under DCI and how long that lasted? Granted a B-1900 and a Q400 are apples and oranges, I just think the general consenus of the public is that they dont trust propeller aircraft.
The reason the 1900's disappeared was because they were being operated by one of the most unreliable mismanaged companies out there, Big Sky. That deal was a disaster for Delta. I was there to watch it all go down, it wasnt pretty. Days with <50% completion factor and 0% on time performance were not what Delta had in mind when they signed up with us. Great group of pilots though, we did what we could with what we were given. Cowboy Up!
