If you're a CEO and the whole purpose of your job is going to be to increase value for your shareholders, I don't think morality and thinking about the other guy is at the top of your list.

Although with everyone's bantering, go take up a majority share in a company you hate and kick the crappy CEO out. There are many things that are out of our control.

Actually you can blame all of the carriers decades ago for starting this whole regional airline deal instead of keeping all of their flying in house.
