OK, getting a little political here, but no, everything isn't "W's" fault...... Just the completely one-sided attitude favoring big business and the rich. If you don't believe me, just Google the Kentucky River decision and then replace the word "nurses", with the word "pilots". How about Open Skies cabotage? Then tell me who you'd be voting for, because you are LITERALLY VOTING FOR YOUR JOB/CAREER SURVIVAL this year. Which party really supports laisse-faire the guys like Tilton, Lorenzo, and Lay? Believe me, the current regime or their erstwhille replacement is not your friend... Just look at their voting record. Just because you are a pilot, does not make you a friend of "greedy pilots". Oh, greedy CEO's are OK because they make better campaign contributions than the "greedy" pilots.
Pilots are a funny lesson in duality. Most of us are conservative, gun owning, strong military-supporting, independent thinkers, yet we belive in "fraternity", "brotherhood", "union", and despise scabbing. Ex-mil pilots show up at an airline, pi33ed off about having to join the "union", yet end up being some of the most ardent supporters of the "union". What a funny, conflicted, and confused group we are. A study in Schitzophrenia............
Well, much like a pool that has too little or too much pH, our country is ready for a shock to the system when the top one percent of wealth increases by nearly a trillion while the bottom 80 percent suffers stagnation or loss. While I don't see the guillotine coming to Wall street or D.C., the little guy (and yes, we ARE the little guys.. even pilots) are ready to revolt against corporate greed.
I'm angry that I feel that this November, I have to choose my job versus my guns, dignity, and national security. I don't like this choice that I am forced to make... So, it's time for a third party. And that's coming from a disgusted YR (see, I didn't say which party or political affiliation by name.. LOL) who has worked on Regan-Bush '84 and Bush-Quayle '88 campaigns.
