K, well, two (2) things, or maybe three.
1. I am scheduled to be furloughed Nov 5. I called an union rep this evening and he did not say we needed to email this information to the union to receive our money. He said they were working with the company to figure this out.
2. I would almost be willing to take their piddly check (if it is decided that the company was in the wrong by doing this) and stick it back up where the sun don't shine because it does not give me a warm fuzzy knowing the company is not sending me this money in good faith. They would only be doing so as a result of being forced. Like we were supposed to laugh this one off or something. Hahaha, well I have my money now so it's okay... Bu**sh*t.
3. Why would I have to email the union with an amount so I could receive a check from the company?? Does the company not know how much they owe me? Do they get their payroll information each month from ALPA. NO!!
I am terribly heart broken right now. As I stated to the ALPA rep, it's not the money, (not that I don't have bills or anything) but it's the principle. As a young boy gazing through the airport fence I expected to, as an airline pilot, be an upstanding respected individual within my establishment as well as in society. I am the furthest from that I have ever been in my life. I don't care about recalls, or half of a CR9 we might be getting in March, I demand respect. We are the frontline of the industry. We thank the passengers as the get off the airplane after we just got them safely to Buffalo in the driving snow. Yet we continue to tolerate BS from our companies.
Regarding the furloughs, that's part of the industry. I am not beat up over it. It's just one of those things we all expect in this industry. I am more upset regarding the lack of communication and the dis-respect we receive from our employer.
If they do decide to send us our checks, it is not until some pilots who choose to rub their peckers with management, thanking them for sending us our checks, forgiving them of their cold heartedness and bla bla bla STOP, we will NEVER get that respect and will continue to be reamed, DRY.

OUCH
