In response to the original question, I wouldn't pay for your own training for a job. That's the owners expense. If they can't afford to pay for training, medicals, insurance, meals etc., then they probably can't afford an expensive airplane anyway and when they realize it, then your job is gone. Plus as soon as somebody realizes there are pilots out there willing to pay for their own training then they won't want to do it anymore for anybody that comes after you. You should keep your standards high. It benefits you as well as your fellow pilots.
