Cuzz, I appreciate your reply. Sounds like you guys are doing well.

Bluebird, I'm not sure that David Neelan has quite such a limited vision for his company..... I could be wrong. Sure seems like you guys are doing a lot of trans-con considering you're an "East coast" carrier.

I don't particularly aspire to remain a F/O for the remainer of my career and had my company not contracted out 4000 out of 10,000 positions I would be a Captain. But that's just business. I've been with my ATL based carrier for nearly 6 years and probably will not make Captain for another 8-10 years.... Having said that, I'm carefully looking at all my options. I interviewed for one of the first 20 Captain positions with Jetblue and was offered to come back with the first group of F/O's. Seemed like a great group of people and I very much enjoyed meeting your CEO. I was hired by another carrier in the interim. Bottom line is that none of us could have forecasted the turmoil that would hit our industry. I knew it was a messed up day when I manuevered my 737 out of the flight path of United 175, narrowly avoiding a mid-air on 9/11, but didn't realize at that moment the challenges we would all face. myself, 2 1/2 years of furlough, now a bankrupt carrier.

Had a friend that passed away a couple of years ago at 85, flew for National and Pan Am, another neighbor flew for Braniff, known a couple of guys that flew for Eastern.... I've learned that you're lucky if you can stay with the same airline for your entire career.... Just like my friends, I take nothing for granted and am trying to manage my career as best as possible. So with that in mind, I thank you for your input. Resectfully, Tomcat
