If someone wants to go to Mesaba or Compass I think it will be a good move. You will be off reserve faster and probably be Captain before TurboDog will even get awarded upgrade at this place. Northwest has invested way too much into XJ and CZ. Personally, I don't think there will be a merger between XJ and OH. They might create a holding company called Delta Connection, but each carrier will continue to operate separate. That would make the most sense. Anything is better than this place right now, that's for damn sure! If I would still be on 1st year pay, I would definitely look into CZ or XJ right now.
What happens when Mesaba furloughs and these guys go from having near 1 year seniority for a call back to 0 years and end up furloughed for longer. These guys can make there own decisions as this is just my opinion. Look at the guys that all left Comair to go to Air Wisconsin during the last furloughs. They haven't upgraded yet and are now a year behind their counterparts that stayed at Comair.
