But why would you think that Delta would just close Comair because they are paying a few senior guys top dollars. It would be a lot less expensive for Delta to buy the senior pilots out even if they had to pay them their career potential earnings.
Frustration is only the result of what the reality that has happened in the last four years and continues to happen. Comair will be done by end of 2009 if not earlier in some sort or fashion, at least in the flying aspect. From fleet reduction to no growth, management tactics, route structure and scheduling, high position resignations for the last two years, writing is on the wall. Comair is a credit card debit and will be consolidated/liquidated with the merger. That is reality.
