Comair is doing fine. If Delta was going to give Comair the axe, we'd be seeing more troubling indications, such as...
- Furloughing 200 pilots
- Closing down concourse C
- Reducing the fleet from 170 to 110 aircraft
- Reducing the pilot ranks from 1900 to 1200
- Changing CEOs every year or so
- Closing crew bases
- Violating the PWA daily
- Building crummy trips
- Putting one third of the pilots on reserve
- Ditching the cool hotels
- Shoving more flying into JFK without any infrastructure to support it
- Putting Comair flying up for bids with an RFP
- Bring Pinnacle and Freedum into CVG to cover Comair furloughs
- Delaying the implementation of an error-free scheduling system
Sure, maybe if one or two of those items happened it would start to look bad for Comair.
But just ask yourself...Would Delta go through the trouble and expense to launch eMaestro if they were planning on shutting the doors at Comair? I don't think so.
