For all the other FOs that switched from the saab to the crj900, they have a 2 year seat lock for both equipment and seat which does not start until 8 weeks after the class start date, so 26 months in all. I have heard many think that they will release that lock but I highly doubt that as there is not a shortage of people to upgrade. Unless they were 2 years away from being able to upgrade, I just cannot justify that move. But I guess whatever floats your boat.
Upgrade is not everything, and for some it was a move to get a better QOL... i did myself and bid the top five for equipment, which means I get to spend the holidays with my family. I have had ATP mins since I started here, but the fourth strip adds nothing but inconvience for most of us...and when it all comes down to it, I just burned two years of reserve, getting the line that I want. So while you cant justify it, there are many that can.
