I'm convinced you'd rather the arbitrator give you a nickel, than your negotiators negotiate to receive a dime, because you are implying, by very definition, if they negotiate a solution, it will be looked at as worse than what the arbitrators would give.
BTW, that's the EXACT same philosophy that drove the train wreck at USAir.
All I can say is I hope you are wrong.

Pinnapple,
Learn to read better. I said MEC not Negoitiating Commitee. Second, Nowhere did I state that our Negoitiators for both sides could not have worked out a better deal.
All I stipulated was the political ramifications for both MEC's to come back to their repsective pilot groups with a negotiated list that disadvatanges the same people they are supposed to be representing is a very hazardous and slippery slope that neither side truly wants to entertain.
Now if you will take the time to actually look past this SLI and our own personal well being, and see what possible political ramifiactions a 12,000 member voting block has on ALPA and ALPA National then maybe just maybe you might see the light at the end of the tunnel. Our respective pilot group has the potential to be a force to be reckoned with for all our "Friends in Herndon". These same Pilot representatives will have enormous opportunites to direct and influence the direction of ALPA National over several years if they so choose to do so. At least we can come up with a better slogan than "Taking it Back".
My apoligies for not numbering the dots and color coding the picture. Next time I will make sure to do just that for you. There is my return volley across your bow.
BTW, I believe in "Trust but Verify"....
