I never broke guarantee while I was here anyway but I'm curious how that would work.
No, you really can't refuse a trip on reserve. I hate it when they put a 4 day trip (straight out of the bid packet) on my line 2 weeks out! That's not reserve!! Crediting over 75+ hours is not reserve! Built more lines!
As far as not going over guarantee, I guess it depends where you sit on reserve list, but there are a few things that I can do. It begins with not bidding to fly, certain reserve windows, when going over guarantee, calling in sick, fatigued, or personal leave will put an end to it. If you are going over guarantee, getting JM, not getting PL days, that's telling me the airline is not properly staffed. I shouldn't be flying this much on reserve. Built me a damn line then. The guys that are not going to get furloughed are going to suffer, too. Yes, we still have a job, but we will get used and abused, and our QOL will go down the crapper (not that it is any better now). Unless you have been here over a decade, you will suffer starting next month. Even lineholders, because once you are displaced, scheduling will own your a$$. I'd actually rather be furloughed (would have taken voluntary furlough) than thinking about the crap life I'm going to have soon. Should be a fun holiday season...

Merry Xmas!
