actually from what i have heard memphis is going to become a bigger international hub for delta, focusing on the asian markets. i heard this from some of the delta guys in memphis. not that it means anything but growing memphis and taking some of the heat of atl makes perfect sense.
I don't see DL expanding overseas from MEM and definitely not to Asia...the local market is not there. Growth to Asia is more likely from SEA, DTW,JFK and ATL. As it is now, MEM only can support AMS and thats only because of the depth of NW's relationship with KL. I know MEM is profitable for NW but its not the cash cow that ATL is. ATL is not at capacity and I just don't see DL forgoing int'l expansion there in favor of MEM.
