I didn't mix up facts, I didn't say he was in the Democrat lot, and I didn't say he was armed. As far as losing credibility, you lose it when you don't read the posts you quote.
If he was in one FedEx lot, do you not think he could have been in another? Are you under the impression that this was his first time in a FedEx parking lot, or could he have been in the Democrat lot previously without getting caught? If he was willing to fight a cop to the point of getting shot, do you not think he would have gladly fought a crewmember who happened upon him? Since there was nothing stopping him from being in the lot, was there something stopping him from being in the lot had he been armed? Are you disputing BoyCapt's assertion of stolen vehicles, also?
There is a perceived crime problem out there, or maybe you are one of those who won't think so until you are personally physically attacked. Others may be a little more astute, put all of these isolated facts together, and decide that discretion is the better part of valor and avoid putting themselves into a perceived risky situation. If someone thinks that the situation is risky, it is on the company to alleviate their fears in a real manner. To ignore it, pretend it doesn't exist, or try to keep the crewforce in the dark will do nothing to prevent those with actual concerns from parking where they feel it is safe to do so. If my wife were a crewmember, I would ensure that she not park in the Demo lot (especially anywhere but the first couple of spots in the first couple of rows) and sit around waiting for the next shuttle. We have plenty of armed security, a continuous armed presence on patrol in the lot would do wonders.
Anyway, my point was that some people have valid reasons why they do what they do, but that seems to be of no concern - at least publicly. Just because you may elect to ignore the risk does not mean they have to. It is bad enough each and every one of us is tagged as an unarmed person who has plenty to steal (at least in the minds of all of the non-pilots out there) every time we pull out of that pilot lot.
