I think you're missing the point. They're not worried about flying to age 65, they don't oppose that. They oppose their retirement age (meaning full benefit commencement date) being changed to age 65...
Age 65 got let out by ICAO rule changes (in which European governments were big instigators). But it's nice to bash ALPA...
Actually, I believe the French never did sign on to the ICAO rule change. Last I heard, they were one of the few countries remaining, that still only fly to 60.
I think it was Italy and Portugal that also passed on the rule change. And, Hungary said age 62.
