French Pilots get Age 65 Right!!!
#15
France has broken the mold, and once again grew a back-bone. ALPA however has apparently been striving for years to be just like the French, and have yet to find a major issue they are not willing to cave over. Seems that ALPA leadership has found its a lot easier to cooperate and graduate (to higher levels of politics) than to take a tough stand. If ALPA could actually realize that 50,000+ members when working together could make a difference and change the RLA by striking together something would happen. I'm SURE the government would put all 50,000+ ALPA members in jail if we all struck at the same time to change some of these major issues (national seniority, standard pay, adequate rest etc). Unfortunately our "union" actually operates like there were scores of independent unions paying into national, and dilutes the strength our union COULD have.
