The last time I tried to ask why I was denied the js the gate agent she got very defensive right away. I didn't get upset at all and her answer to me was "your a pilot you should know why you didn't get on". I did talk to a supervisor and he finally admitted she just screwed up.
PM me with specific details and I will talk to our jump seat committee folks.
Our gate agents are on the whole pretty bad and AMR is certainly not a shining example on how to run non-rev bennies so it isn't surprising that they actively try to make it difficult for the offline guys. That being said, a lot of us (myself included) depend on other airlines to get to work and it is only fair that we do everything we can to get pilots on airplanes whenever possible. If you are having difficulties with a specific station the jumpseat comittee can likely correct the issue. Good luck getting on and welcome aboard!
