Here's how I see it. Delta wants to do to us what Northwest did to mesaba. Northwest eliminated all the Avros and shrunk Mesaba's fleet down to about 49 Saabs. Mesaba then furloughed most of their pilot group. Northwest purchased Mesaba from Mair Holdings company and started growing Mesaba like crazy a couple years later with a brand new (cheaper) workforce.

Let's face it, who's going to wait around on furlough for a regional airline..most are going to find other jobs and give up their seniority. In the process they're going to get rid of all of our old, rickety, inefficient 50 seaters. Once Comair is down to a couple hundred pilots, Delta will grow us with a mostly new (therefore cheaper) pilot group.
