Those who are furloughed are the cheapest labor on the property.
Those who remain are not able to find other flying jobs during a time when the economy does not support expansion. Certainly there will be a handful who will say "enough is enough" and go pursue a career that has a higher value in society, but I don't see the conditions in place for a mass exodus of pilots earning $80k or more per year at the present, or near future.
Me either. If you're fortunate enough to be furloughed and looking for a decent job right now, you would especially know this is true.
