my buddy was the FO on this flight. apparently this guy got wasted, lit up a cig in the lav, set off the smoke detector, dropped the cig in the trash can and caused more smoke. then he steps out of the lav, followed by a cloud of smoke, and a passenger says "hey good job dumb a** now we have to go to RDU cause of you". then the drunk smoker starts talking trash to the wrong person, ends up hitting a flight attendant, and the rest is history.

that being said i've been drinking and that's as best as i can remember the story. cheers.
