question: HOW MANY PILOTS LIVES ARE SELFISH MESA PILOTS GOING TO RUIN IN 2009?
Hang on, let me stop laughing... Okay. Do you mind explaining to me how any pilot is responsible for the actions of their management? If you want to hold pilots to the flames over decisions that their management has made at one time or another you might as well make hate-mongering your full-time day job because you're going to have an awful lot of fish to fry. Probably the majority of your fellow pilots.

The fact of the matter is that as pilots we do not control what our management does and often we don't condone it either. I feel terrible for Aloha pilots and wish them all the best. I couldn't agree more that Mesa planes painted in Aloha livery is outrageously disrespectful to those that lost their jobs. Unfortunately I'm also a realist, and realize that business is business. I have to wonder if some of you have ever taken business classes in college. You live in a capitalist country where business is cut throat. If the opportunity to make money is present, someone is going to take it. Mesa saw the opportunity to make money in Hawaii and took it. Any other regional would have done the same if they had the means. If you think RAH held out just because they liked Aloha and didn't want to hurt them by entering the market, your wrong. Based on your argument you must despise Southwest and their pilots for what their doing to Frontier in Denver, right? Ooo those evil, conspiring, despicable Southwest pilots. They must just make your blood boil!

Here is my problem with statements like this, they are so ridiculous, bias and ignorant that they hardly warrant a response. I lower the standards of your diamond studded, glamorous regional airline industry? Let me start out by saying, I'm so, so sorry. This statement reminds me of a story...

I was working at the customer service desk at Target when I was about 16 years old. A lady came to the return counter with a broken vase inside of a plastic sac. The vase was broken into about 100 pieces and she demanded a refund. She argued and yelled all the way up to the store manager before she finally got her refund which was given to her more to get her out of the store than for any other reason.

Why does this story remind me of your post? Because you and that lady are doing the exact same thing. Shifting the blame away from yourself to others. It was Target's fault that she dropped and broke her vase and it's my fault that your life as a regional airline pilot sucks. Sorry I ruined your life, bro!

I really think that it is ignorance and hatred like this that tears our industry apart. So many of you can't see through the b.s. to fact that we're all pilots just trying to wring a drop of quality of life out of an industry that has taken and taken from us. As of now there is NO regional I can think of that treats pilots the way we deserve to be treated. Those of you who want to hate and grovel about this regional or that regional are missing the big picture. Pilots need to wage a war against all regional management in order to succeed, not a war between pilots. The longer you focus your energy on hating your fellow pilots, the further this industry will fall.

I would love one of you Mesa bashers to come out from hiding behind your keyboard and argue this silliness with me in person. After two years of flying for Mesa, I've yet to have one person say anything to my face, and I jumpseat on other regionals a lot. I guess it's a lot easier when you can hide behind anonymity.
