The reason being is way back when displacements started with fleet reductions, staffing was based with attrition in mind. However as everyone is aware, that attrition is not occurring as the economy suffers. So DL/Comair has to revamp the numbers hence the displacments and furloughs.
Block hours are being reduced and now from what I was told will average bewteen 16k and 17,500 hours depending on season and month. The upside to that if there is one is that it settles and displays some sort of stableness in our block hours allowing comair/DL to re-evaluate the strategy and future.

Play, I deeply appreciate you keeping the pilot group as well as those of us waiting our turn to tranfer over to the pilot group. Comair hired 5 of us to work in different capacities in this company until they started bringing on pilots again. I speak for all of us when I say keep it coming. Again thank you.
We don't like the current state of affairs that Delta is putting Comair through and some of us wanted to look at other jobs with other regionals, cept there is no place to go, so we're sloggin it out here for now.
I say everyone just hang on, try to stay positive and attacks against your fellow pilots are not the way to go. I don't think anyone wants to see a fellow pilot on the street, unless thier unsafe. So let's stay positive, yes I know it's hard, my paycheck reflects that, but look at it this way, you could be LIVING IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!!!!! (SNL GREAT CHRIS FARLEY)
