I am ashamed to say it, but I am one of the low times guys who will be applying here very shortly. I am currently just over 230 TT, 56 ME, and just about 100 instrument. I should have just a tad over 300 TT when I apply in January. I know it’s a long shot, but I am going to be taking the chance. I am going to be a Western Michigan University graduate with a 3.7-3.8 GPA, assistant captain of a college approved hockey team, JET course for the CRJ-200, and a slew of other good activities for my resume. I am currently a CMEL/CSEL/Instrument, working on CFI followed by CFII and MEI. I am in no hurry as no one locally is hiring flight instructors, but I still want to gain the knowledge and experiance to hold a flight instructor rating.

I am curious to see how I fair up. I am looking to stay with the company long term, which I feel is what they may be looking for right now. With that being said, I have a few questions regarding the application before I fill it out next month. Under the questions, number 8 asks “Do you have a degree in Aeronautical science.” I am a current aviation flight science major at WMU, but I don’t want to get wording confused, as some degrees are listed as aeronautical and not aviation. For this, would my degree be considered a yes or no?

My second question is with regards to question 20, which states “Which ME-ATP Certificate do you currently possess?” Now I read the question as which ATP certificate do you possess, but the answers are asking what commercial certificate you possess. Could anyone shed some light on that one also?

Thanks much too. I will be sure to post an update when I do apply, and the status of the application also.
