That is if their union allows it also. As far as giving up your seniority, don't worry about that. Pretty much every airline out there is going to make you sign the "resignation letter". However, due to your union contract/status, if/when Comair start calling back, you'll be called. I wouldn't worry.
When my boyfriend was furloughed from MESABA and came to COMAIR, they did not make him give up his senority number.......
