I sent in an online application a couple of weeks ago and got the "thanks but no thanks" return email from HR. I am low time (360, 60 ME) but nothing current. I have not flown in a year and was honest about it on my cover letter. I told them I was confident that if selected I could get through the training, but if they stuck my in the sim at an interview they would not be impressed. I am of the age, where if they hired me, I would have no illusions of going on to a major, but would be happy to just upgrade to captian there someday and fly until forced retirement. It would be perfect for me as I live in MSP and would hopefully not have to screw around with crash pads and jump seats all over the place. I would have to take about a 50K reduction in pay and the resulting divorce lawyer bills, but I would still seriously consider it. Oh well, I will keep bugging them.
I can't believe you received a "thanks but no thanks letter." I think the red flag was that you told them
1. Not current
2. They would not be impressed with your sim eval.
