I'm not sure if this path will work for you but Weather Modification could also be a possibility. Some projects are internships that are sponsored through universities, while others you can fly as a PIC. The projects that I know about are in North Dakota, Texas, Reno, Boise, and Wyoming.

I was able to get into a weather modification project this summer in western North Dakota through UND. I started the project at 31 total ME, and now I'm at 88 hours. The kicker is that if you are able to get on a project the hours are free, but your costs also include the usual room and board for living, food and gas.
