Default Where should i look?

I'm currently a CFI at my university, graduated this past december and am working on my CFII currently. Total times are 600 TT with 35 ME, isn't terrible, and sounds a lot better than when i started CFI'ing in Jan having 330TT (multi didn't change much).

I'll probably pay for my MEI soon (raise at work + can build mutli time) but like many out there, i'm poor and will have a difficult time coming up with funding to finish achieve the MEI. If i was looking for somewhere to go to find someone to buy my multi-time where would you guys recommend? I've looked for low mins, and ahve found some, also found some "dont go there's" on the website too, so, who to go to, who not to go to, etc would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Thumbs up Go AllATPs

I'll second tinpusher. AllATPs would be your ticket of choice. They're not terribly expensive, and get you done pretty quickly.

Ari-ben Aviator sells multi-engine duchess time in 100 hour or 50 hour blocks (7k for 100 hrs and 4k for 50 hrs if i'm not mistaken).

Basically the way it works is this... you're paired up with another pilot and you fly together at night. The flight school uses the duchesses between 6am and 6pm and the timebuilders between 6pm-6am. they have 12 duchesses and theyre pretty well maintained so getting a plane to fly in isn't a problem most nights. They also have on-site accomodation for approx 100 a month or so.

that one wouldn't be worth it, i can split time in our duchess @ 78/hr total, but thanks still....I guess i'll work towards the MEI and get that done.

ps- our duchesses are 198/hr

Hey Aussie, the price you quoted for the Ari on-site accomodation is just a tad low. When I called Ari up a couple of months ago Mary the sales rep quoted me 5x that amount. The current cost for a room (3-bedroom shared housing) is $30/night or $500/month; whichever is less.

$100/month would be great, but I think you'd have to find Doc Brown’s Delorean and go back to the '80's. Isn't inflation a *****!

I'm not sure if this path will work for you but Weather Modification could also be a possibility. Some projects are internships that are sponsored through universities, while others you can fly as a PIC. The projects that I know about are in North Dakota, Texas, Reno, Boise, and Wyoming.

I was able to get into a weather modification project this summer in western North Dakota through UND. I started the project at 31 total ME, and now I'm at 88 hours. The kicker is that if you are able to get on a project the hours are free, but your costs also include the usual room and board for living, food and gas.

John,

I know this is a little off of the subject but I wanted to throw it out here anyway. Are you able to apply to the military?

One of the best-kept secrets out there is the ANG. If you are still young enough and able to do it, I would highly reccomend looking into this.

get your rating at ALLATPS and see about teaching there for a year or so. You'll be more than employable at the regionals after that experience...
