If TWAers were running the union, we'd be eaten alive by AA management. Productivity improvements in the form of company controlled preferential bidding, higher max's, giving away scope to buy a few years of a meager pay raise until they can retire, would to slice probably at least a thousand (maybe two) more off the active list. And you could watch your narrow body flying shifted to the RJ guy that Jake is jerking gear for and some international flying to BA and IB, et al. Let the whipsawing begin in earnest after that.

I'll take my chances with my union leadership who has some guts and understands AA management, not some scared TWA concessionists who will sell out my job for a $5 pay raise.
I'd rather let the NAAtives that engineered Supp CC negotiate for me. They handed Con Carty a divided and conquered pilot group, cleansed the payroll of almost all the red tails, accepted a 23% pay cut and to this date AMR laughs at them.

I'm not saying the senior bubbas anywhere care a less about the junior pukes, but what progress has Darrah, Hunter, or Hill gotten the pilot group....neat leather jackets, maybe. nothing more.
