Pulling out of ASAP is the most damaging action to safety at Comair. The MEC decided to pull ASAP for political reasons with a full disregard to safety and the good of out pilot group. Hey, I agree with you. The media just sounds a bit too much like Chicken Little, again. I'm sure you go to work every day with nothing but safety at the front of your mind, with or without the ASAP program.
Maybe the company needs to look at a safety points system to make the discipline of pilots a black and white issue. You start out with 10 or 12 points... lose all of your safety points and you're gone. Give guys ways to recoup their points. Last company I was with had a program like this and it was wonderful.
