Is there a bit of optimism?
A few times a week I stop by and read the posts just to get the sense of the mood. Needless to say, the last six months haven't been a joy to read. Having said that, I think I've noticed a small amount of positive news popping up. Ever so often, a post shows up and says some pilots are being recalled. I know there are still a lot of guys out of work, but at least some are being recalled.
I find the little bits good news about recalls to be interesting considering the stock market has begun a slight rally. The market generally forecasts conditions 6-8 months in advance and this move suggests investors believe economic conditions will improve by the summer months. Maybe the airline execs are seeing the signs of life that the market is predicting? Maybe that's why some pilots are starting to get good news in the mail?
It's just a thought, but maybe the worst is behind us. I wouldn't bet the house on it, but I'll take good news were I can get it.
