Sounds like accrueing longevity to me.
I think you're misreading that - what it means is if your longevity date is 1/28/08 and you are furloughed exactly a year, your longevity date is adjusted forward to 1/28/09. Make sense?
As much as I'd like to see longevity accrue, it won't happen and I don't want anyone to build false hope.
