I think you may be mixing up the two programs.
The early out allows for employees with between 5-10 YOS to have unlimited yield fare. The length of time is based on YOS. Each year of service allows you a year of the restricted pass benefits. They are giving these guys benefits, but the yield fare restrictions apply.
The 55 point program allows for employees with greater than 10 YOS to have unlimited S3B pass privileges for life.
Yes. I am looking at someone who has 5 years of service as of Dec. 31, 2009. It looks to me that those employees would receive flying benefits for a year for each year of service that they have completed. So for a 5 year employee that would mean benefits for 5 years. Now that same program says that there is unlimited yield fare tickets for employee and passriders on Delta and Comair only. I am wondering if "Unlimited" means for life? I can't see why else you would use yield fare tickets during the 5 years of your benefits. Does that make better sense?
