And thanks for completely dumbing down the ramp tower's job description. You obviously have a full working knowledge of what those guys do on a daily basis. Or is it there is more than just ramp control? Maybe team coordinator? Snow Desk? Connections coordinator? Exceptions? November Queue? Maybe you should go up and meet some of those you are accusing sometime and actually learn what goes on behind the scenes. You would never believe the things they do for us crews that you will never know about.
So what you are saying is that those voices we hear on 122.82 or 131.72 are not computer generated? Are you suggesting that we as pilots should get permission to move our aircraft from the gate and that when we need something that a quick snap of our fingers or wiggle of our noses will not produce the desired results? I'm raising the BS flag on this one. I wish I could help you, but I just can't.
