A buddy of mine just told me that he turned in the paperwork today for the Early Out Program and that only 6 pilots have bitten so far including him. He said he was the only FO so far and that the captains were not real senior ones, but around the 14 year mark. Either folks are waiting until the last second to participate, or you will most likely see another round of Downgrades/Furloughs.
They just announced the 55point program last week. This is a big decision for people to make, especially in this economy. I'm not at all surprised that there's only 6 people that have opted for this program so far..there's still another week and a half before the deadline. there are probably several people on the fence and will make their decision next week.
