Gates 23/25 at JFK are a d-bortion (that's 3 steps below an abortion). To have 22 aircraft parked at two gates is asking for a trainwreck every day.
Just do the simple math... with two gates and allowing 20 minutes to board a flight, JFK can, on paper, efficiently load six planes an hour.
So when you look at the departures board and see the following: Detroit-4:30, Buffalo-4:35, DCA-4:40, Tampa-4:45, Cincy-4:50, you know Cincy won't really board until well after scheduled departure.
Same thing with the fence at LGA.
