Just do the simple math... with two gates and allowing 20 minutes to board a flight, JFK can, on paper, efficiently load six planes an hour.
So when you look at the departures board and see the following: Detroit-4:30, Buffalo-4:35, DCA-4:40, Tampa-4:45, Cincy-4:50, you know Cincy won't really board until well after scheduled departure.
Same thing with the fence at LGA.
Gate 23/25 really has an extremely simple solution. Run it like they did concourse C. Build a wall 5 feet out from the current wall and throw 4 doors on each gate 23 and 25. 23a.b.c.d. Each one with a gate agent still leads down the same 1 jet bridge but now capable of actually boarding 4 separate a/c in an orderly manner.
So now I have just one question. Where can I sign myself up for an ovation?
