I couldn't get the Seattle video to load - "other side of the world" issues, I guess.
Here's another video of her arriving Freemantle - loaded for bear.
YouTube - USS Kitty Hawk
She was in SLEP when I first got hired at Piedmont. We'd drive past her going from PHL to the hotel in Essington; she had that big "63" on her island lit up (even though she was being worked on).
Begin rant:
News5:
January 29th, 2009 - Nearly a thousand former crew members gathered in Bremerton to say farewell to the USS Kitty Hawk. KING 5's Linda Brill joined them, as the Navy opened the ship for a final tour before it is decommissioned.
Vagabond, would you mind calling that reporter and reminding her that ships are "she's" - at least in the western hemisphere? Nothing sexist about it - it's a high compliment.
End rant
Was the "disaster" the Boeing announcement of layoffs? I'm sorry. My son is going through that over at Cessna.
