FWIW I said very early on, that the Deutsche Dirtbags aren't as stupid as some suggested, and that they saw this economic trainwreck coming with the idea of ultimately getting Astar and/or ABX on the cheap, with the tidy little bow of ultimately appearing as "heros" by saving ILM and showing how they're actually really nice guys and the added bonus of having a "grateful" but cheap workforce.
If that's how it all pans out I guess they're not all that stupid.
Add to that, The One will likely have them stay in the Lincoln bedroom out of gratitude.
