As far as I know, the groups make their money from subscribers but more so from advertisers just like magazines.
I might add it seems to me they are both in the same business, selling
reliable and credible information. They sit between the source (the airlines) and the end user (the pilot). If they lose their credibility at either end, they implode.
And as for being biased, you talk to the airlines and various aviation companies and they tell you what they are doing. Verify with others and print it. Where is the conspiracy?
