The 5700 is Comair today. 2600 will leave in the fall and become RHS. That leaves 3100 still at Comair (including pilots, FAs, MX, dispatchers, and potential CEOs).

I agree the paragraph could have been worded better. I don't think Bendo is saying that Comair is laying off 2600 employees now and then will lose another 2600 to RHS in the fall. That would leave Comair with around 500 employees, and when you subtract the potential CEOs and schedulers-in-training you're left with 34 crusty old pilots wondering why half of them are going to JFK as First Officers.
The way I read that say that today our staff has gone from 5700 down to 3100. Then, by fall the other 2600 remaining customer service employees will become RHS employees. I don't know. Needless to say, I can't see one possible way that this is the good "Win-win" situation that Bondo is talking about.. He said in his Presidents Message that not that our company is that much smaller we will be able to see what our direct costs are, because before it was hard to tell. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Was he saying that they couldn't keep track of our cost because we were too big? If so, these bozos either have no clue what they are doing, or they just think that we are that dumb.
