The sooner we all understand the huge difference between crew "staffing" and "utilization" the sooner it will become evident that Comair wants as many folks on reserve as possible. I am of the unpopular belief that we may actually be adequately staffed but horribly utilized. The fact that just about every FO breaks guarantee every month and is working the maximum amount of contractual days is proof that the planning and utilization of crews is laughable. A reserve pilot breaking guarantee but not pay protected up until 75 hours looks pretty good to a manager that is predisposed to pretty much hate flight crews.

Having been through a furlough myself, I sympathize with each of you and wish you a hasty return to this 5hit-bag outfit so you can be abused even worse, but as for the bump in hours, don't shine your hardware just yet.
