I just ran the numbers for Capt Sullenbergers pay. He came to USAIR in 1980 so he has about 29 years with the company.

His base pay is a little over $122,000

That is terrible for someone with that kind of time in at the company flying that type of equipment. FOs at Fedex make more than that and SOs make just a hair less with equal time on property.
