Or mabye when the mass retirements ,that they slowed with the age 65 rule, hit again we can watch our airlines park airplanes and lose money, then they can go throught the revolving door of chapter 11 over and over, eliminating any chance to make a profit, we could use to go after better pay on the next contract negotiation. Oh and just for fun, we can start denouncing people for their religion, or politics. JUST because you dont like PFT, does not mean it doesnt work or that the pilots that went that route dont take this profession and safety just as seriously as you do....You guys are like a mob mentality. There are a bunch of problems facing the industry today, but the biggest one is every pilot needs to start looking in the mirror before they start looking to place blame quickly.

You do not have to believe it but I guarantee fully half of the pilots hired in the last 12 or so years, by definition went the PFT route, whether 141 school, CFI pilot mills type school, 121 airline, ect. By the definition you guys all speak of the only qualified pilots were the ones who trained part 61 all the way through. My question is, are you just going to drive the wedges into the pilot group even further, because it makes you lots of friends on APC. Have we become such a group of followers, because we need a target to blame that we got screwed by the economy and management.
You know something your right, most pilots did go through a PFT program.
Personally my "PFT Program" ended after I got my Multi-Commercial CFI/CFII. After that point I was expected to make my own way in this industry as a CFI or any other job I could recieve as a certified Commercial Pilot. I PAID FOR TRAINING....Then got a job, we are not denouncing PFT, we're denoucing what should be called PFJ, because we are essentially PAYING FOR JOBS through these programs.

I'm not a ra-ra uniong guy by any means, trust me, but I am also disgusted by anyone who would take my seat/job because that individual is willing to do my job for free.

Why should an individual pilot (300 TT) pay to qualify as a First Officer in a Beech 1900, when a CFI (1500 TT/1000+Dual) is turned down for the same position because that CFI is not willing to further bury him/herself in debt???

I'll answer that, they shouldn't. Maybe I am old fashioned, but I believe today what I believed the first time I stepped into an airplane, and that is that the most qualified pilot should be in command of the ship.

It's not a matter of disagreement, just a matter of fact anyway you look at it. Any pilot willing to pay a company merely so that pilot can have a job ahead of one of his/hers' peers lacks integrity, self-respect, and dignity, anyway you look at it.

I don't know your background, where you came from, or where you work now, it's irrelevant, however if you can't see why willing to participate in PFJ program hurts this industry, then we truly are on two completely different wavelengths.

You must have a job, and if I or anyone else came and put you on the street because I didn't care about the money, trust me you would feel differently.

Not trying to attack you, but PFJ Programs have NO PLACE in this industry, what is Gulfstream Academy today can turn into Republic/Skywest or Continental/Delta/United tommorow.
