How is that recorded. Our out times were sent electronically through ACARS when all doors are closed and the brakes are released.
Doors closed and beacon on. In NYC that switch was known as the "beer" switch. Once the paperwork was brought on board whoever didn't turn on the beacon bought the other a beer. In ATL, it is the Captain's switch and most don't turn it on no matter what until absolutely ready to push back. Per the checklist.
