"Hmmm, im curious, if I worked at G7 id get kicked off a jumpseat...."
Personally, I wouldn't kick you or anyone else off my jumpseat (execpt maybe a scab). I'd welcome a Gulfstream pilot for ride as I'd expect a Gulfstream pilot to give a ride to a UPS pilot. If you're on the list, you get to ride. It's wrong to play politics and push a personal agenda with the jumpseat. You hear a lot of bravado at the regional forums about not giving rides, but I think it's mostly a vocal vast minority talking big at an anonymous airline pilot chat board. Pay it no mind....
That said, I still have a big problem with Gulfstream style PFJ as a way to enter this biz. It hurts the profession. At another thread, you say you have a year to go to ATP mins. Perhaps you'll change your tune as you gain experience and speak with other pilots. You can trust that my tune was set in stone years ago when I saw the first "become an airline pilot here" Gulfstream ad in Flying magazine. Trust me, I was well above ATP mins when the first Gulfstream ad came out and, as such, understand the harm.
The best thing we got going for us is the Gulfstream scheme hasn't caught on outside a small regional mostly flying 1900's. I've always been worried that it might catch on and UPS will give 757 F/O training and 250 hours in the seat to anyone with 100K. Wouldn't that be cool?
