Well lets see...I've been in the right seat at USAir now for the last 22 years and I'm back on reserve. I for one confronted my MEC chairman about flying the 50 seat RJ's on mainline but he fell for Steven Wolfes ploy of a huge order with only 100 or so firm and the other 300 planes as options(the BAIT!). I was told, you don't understand lowley little FO, we are getting A-319's for what they would have to pay for the 50 seaters so why would we want them? He then proceeded to a fat cush job at ALPA national with very high pay and housing allowances. Makes me want to puke! BTW we used to fly RJ's ...they were called F-28's and only held 68 people..so we weren't too good to fly RJ's. As for my retirement, yep you guessed it, GONE. Age 65, thats why I'm back on reserve. Lastly I am one of the guys hired in the 80's, but I'm only 48 so I've got a long time to go.
